Just like food satisfies the stomach, music satisfies the soul. Now some would argue that only a specific kind of music has the healing capabilities but if you ask me, anything that makes you feel good, helps you relax and forces you to unwind is the music you need in your life. No matter if it’s classical from India or a rap from America, if it is honey to your ears you will be one happy person.
While we are still on music, I am excited about one big musical thing that is going to happen in the continent of Africa. In fact, this is so big that it has been termed as the biggest single collaboration in Africa. Let’s explore more about it.
- In the simplest words, it is two African singers coming together to sing a song that will lighten up the hearts of million across the globe. De Boss – @YunMoni and Samini – @Samini_dagaati will be recording this song and have named it Salewa.
- The song features Chinedu Chukwunta better known as De Boss in the lead. This Nigerian talent is a rapper and a master in hip hop music. He is also known for his RnB and Reggae style of music.
- De Boss started with his musical career as an underground artist and interestingly, still prefers to stay underground because he does music for ‘fun’. Well, the kind of music he does for fun is so much better than what many people do for a living.
- De Boss loves music so much that in spite of being an underground artist, he started with his own recording studio in 2009 and collaborated with some of the finest Nigerian and International singers. Later in 2011, he partnered up with YMR NIG from Texas, USA and has been on a roll as an indie artist since then.
- Emmanuel Andrews or as you might know him, Samini will be featuring in this track too. He is from Ghana and is known for his Reggae and Dance hall recordings. His music is melodious and mixes dancehall, reggae and highlife together to form a fusion of sounds that are soothing to the hearts.
- One thing that most of the people do not know about Samini is the fact that his stage name before Samini was Batman Samini. Although I still do not get why Batman but it might be because of the tricks he can do with the music. He even has his own style of music which he calls African Dancehall.
- Samini had his first break with Ashanti International and soon started with his own recording label and forfeited his contract with previous label. Since then, he has released more than 4 studio albums with all of them being a big commercial hit. His success story started with his single, Linda which won applauds from the musical fraternity.
- The duo’s new song – Salewa will be coming out any time in September or October 2016 and me, being a hip hop buff, I am eagerly waiting to thump my feet with their rhythm.
